Culinary Pleasures

It’s all about me…

Hi everyone, my name is Bec & I love food!

After growing up in the country’s fresh food epicentre (Tasmania) I uprooted and moved to Melbourne (via London!) where I discovered an appreciation for cooking and eating good food.

A bout of glandular fever (mono to those from the US) and subsequent fatigue since May 2011 have left me unable to participate in most of the activities I used to indulge in, and has resulted in spending my free time discovering the pleasures of cooking wholesome and delicious meals at home, and indulging in new restaurants.

My aim in this blog is to share my eating experiences with you in hope that it may open a world of dining that you may not have necessarily considered otherwise.

I am also an animal lover/activist and always endeavour to source my meat and dairy from free range, and where possible, organic suppliers. Not only is it kinder and more humane than the atrocious conditions of factory farming, it also tastes SOOOO much better!

Because of my illness I learned so much about nutrition and how we really are what we eat. I am hoping to explore this much much more in the future and am always on the lookout for healthy and delicious recipes. I also love the Melbourne food market scene and could easily spend an entire morning perusing the stalls and sampling all the wonderful, quality produce on offer.

As I am very new to the world of blogging, I welcome any pointers and tips on how I could improve the site or my writing!

Thanks for reading!

Bec 🙂
